Community Home & Land Project

$23,847.45 raised
GOAL: $80,000.00
UPDATE 10/4/21:
Thanks to you we were able to purchase the second parcel of land. We finalized that purchase last week!
The first parcel is for us to build a community home.
This space will provide workshops, classes, exchanging mutual aid resources, safe space to escape challenges, a library, fitness, skill set trainings, monthly community meals, and so much more!
The second parcel is for a community garden.
This space will grow veggies, fruits, nuts, and beans. We will make extracts, teach how to garden, teach the history of Black agriculture in the US, provide your own food to grow in a pot or in your yards, healing, and so much more!
WHAT ARE THE NEXT NEEDS TO GO FORWARD:
We need to do the following..
- get underground plumbing (including notary for easement access agreement)
- get fencing around the second parcel so we can start the garden
- get soil and mulch and compost
- by 5 rakes, 5 shovels, and 3 wheel barrels
- get permits from the city of sac, to build
Any amount you chip in is welcomed!
Whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps.
If you are unable to donate you can help out in a huge way doing the following on your social media pages:
- click invite and invite your friends list
- share to your page
- create your own fundraiser to help us out
THANK YOU
for everything you have done already.
----------------------------------------
Black Lives Matter Sacramento is finally kicking off our fundraiser for our Community House and Land Project!
We have purchased a parcel of land, and hope to purchase a connecting parcel soon so that we can build a safe space for community, a place to funnel in resources to Black Sacramento, and a garden so we can give the people fresh food.
Legal clinics, hair cuts, medical clinics, childcare, crisis response, classes on skillsets that can bring in some money, resumes, school papers, college applications, music, music instruments, counseling, wealth and home ownership, estate and will prep, computer skills, mentorship for our LGBTQ+ youth, and the list is so much longer!
This is access to real needs that folks needed yesterday!
- Donate $5 or $500.
- Donate once or donate monthly
- Donate and/or share to get others to donate
We are not a part of the global network so there is no funding trickling down. This is all pure grass roots fundraising. ALL proceeds will go to the purchase of land and the complete building of a community home and community garden from the ground up.
We cannot wait to watch this building go up and this garden form and grow! Cannot wait to fill boxes of fruits, veggies, nuts and beans...and give them to people that need them! Cannot wait to give legal clinics, health clinics, and cook outs!
We have an architect and he is ready to go! Let's get this started!!
